Koi Pond Stocking Guide

The following tables are meant as guides only based on the stocking densities recommended by some koi experts.  There are many factors affecting correct stocking: pond temperature, pond depth, water surface area, filtration system, etc.  The pond owner is therefore advised to exercise his or her own discretion and judgment when using these tables for his or her own purpose.  As a general rule, koi ponds must be continuously filtered and overcrowding of fish must always be avoided.
